- Open FileExplorer. Use the address bar at the top to navigate to "\\loki" while you're on the network. Notice that the "\" is different from the "/". Then, click Enter.
Note: You must be either on KLAS WiFi (not KLAS Guest) or docked/connected to Ethernet, or connected to the VPN if you're offsite, to access the network files. -
Depending on the network drive that you'd like to map, navigate to the folder that you need. Double-click on KLASfilesrv, Transcriptions or Users. We colloquially refer to these as the Z, T and U drive, respectively.
-
Once you have found the folder path that you need to map to, highlight the address bar and copy the full pathway. For example, if you're trying to map your transcription folder, then after opening Transcriptions, also open up your personal transcription folder.
-
Right click on "This PC" (or My Computer for Windows 7) and select "Map network drive...".
Choose the 'Drive:' label. We typically choose the following letters for specific drives:
Z: KLASFilesrv
T: Transcriptions
U: User folders-
Paste the file path that we copied earlier into the 'Folder:' field.
-
Select "Finish". Done!
You'll now see your mapped network drives in "This PC".
These steps will show you how to map a network drive so you can access what we colloquially refer to as the 'Z Drive', or the 'T' and 'U' Drives. This is storage saved on KLAS servers.
